For the past three days Arav has had heavy cold with breathing problems. Doctors have diagnosed it as acute adenoiditis. Adenoids are located just behind the tonsils. Infected Adeniods leads to soar throat, loss of apetite, loss of weight, breathing problems and also to severe problems that affects lungs, (asthma, bronchitis etc.) nose and throat. In severe cases the adenoids would have to be removed through surgery. A you tube video by Dr. Kevin Soh on Adenoids in children helped me obtain some more information.

He is on heavy medication for the next two days and is missing school. I need to take him to for a review with the ENT tomorrow.Though he is able to sleep better, he is still breathing through his mouth.
